Job summary

Shippensburg Area School District is seeking a dedicated Classroom Assistant to support certificated staff in delivering intensified learning experiences across district classrooms. The role involves supervision of students, safety oversight during transitions and activities, and assisting with clerical tasks to aid instructional processes.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience working with children in education or childcare setting preferred.
Ability to follow directions and learn new procedures.

Responsibilities

Assist in conducting intensified learning experiences for students under certificated staff.
Supervise students during class, tutoring, playground, and other activities to ensure safety.
Assist in transferring children to and from buses, classrooms, and events maintaining safety.
Support behavioral and academic plans and collect data for progress monitoring.
Perform clerical duties under instruction, including typing, copying, and distributing materials.
Assist students with use of instructional/assistive technology as directed.
