Job summary

IDEA Public Schools is seeking a Bus Driver to transport students on scheduled routes, ensuring safety and compliance with DOT regulations. The role requires operating large passenger vehicles, maintaining order, and performing daily safety checks.

You will manage loading/unloading, keep detailed records, and respond to delays as needed. Qualified candidates hold a GED or high school diploma, a valid CDL with P and S endorsements, and must be at least 21 years old.

Qualifications

• Education: GED or High School Diploma.
• Experience: Experience operating large passenger vehicles; ability to manage student behavior.
• License: Valid CDL with class P and S endorsements.
• Completed bus driver safety training.
• Must be over 21 years old.
• Pass alcohol and drug tests.
• DOT Physical Examination.

Responsibilities

• Safely transports students.
• Drives a school bus on schedule to homes, school sites, and field trips.
• Maintains order and discipline; documents incidents.
• Daily safety and operational inspection of the bus.
• Oversees loading/unloading and releases students to authorized individuals.
• Maintains mileage, routing, maintenance, and time schedule records.
• Notifies delays and ensures credentials are up to date.
