The role focuses on assisting students who are severely impaired or medically fragile, under teacher supervision, with primary personal care and secondary academic support.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Criminal history clearance required.
• Demonstrated knowledge through a formal state/local assessment.
• Completion of district-required training or equivalent experience.
• May need Oregon Type 10 Driver Certification and valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Performs nursing tasks as delegated by a RN or as part of behavior support under supervision.
• Performs oral hygiene, diapering, feeding, dressing and grooming tasks.
• Documents clinical observations and nursing or behavioral data.
• Carrries out nursing care plans and rehabilitation tasks as directed.
• Implements behavioral strategies and supports student instruction under supervision.
• Assists in developing individual instruction and support plans aligned with IEPs.
• Ensures a safe, secure environment for students and staff.
• Transports students as needed and may operate a Type 10 Driver vehicle.
• Participates in staff and parent meetings and communicates with families and colleagues.
