Job summary

JCSSA-Godley ISD Entity in Grandview, TX is seeking a Special Education Bus Monitor to ride buses and help drivers ensure safe and orderly transportation for students with disabilities. The role reports to Transportation and involves assisting with boarding, behavior management, and safety protocols.

Starting immediately, the position requires following instructions, communicating with staff and families, and following district policies related to special education transportation.

Responsibilities

• Escort students to the building and deliver them to their destination.
• Assist with boarding and exiting and monitor safety procedures.

• Assistdriverkeepingbuscleanandperformanceofpreandposttripinspections.
• Operateequipmentaccordingtoestablishedsafetyprocedures.Makesurethatseatbelts,harnesses,orcarseatsareusedcorrectlyandhelpstudentsusesafetydeviseswhenneeded .Inaddition,makesurewheelchairsaresecureandfastenedcorrectly.
• Followemergencyproceduresincludingevacuationofstudentsasneededandassistdrivertoadministerfirstaid,ifnecessary.Inaddition,helpthedrivermaintainanuptodateemergencyfolderandfilloutthenecessarypaperworkshouldanaccidentoccur.
• Followestablishedproceduresandtechniquestoperformjobdutiesincludingliftingandassistingstudents.

• Becomefamiliarwithandfollowproceduresestablishedbytransportationandspecialeducationoffices .Inaddition,youarerequiredtofollowanyandalladditionalJCSSApolicies .
