JOB GOAL:
Under the supervision of the school principal, with assistance from school-based facilitator/administrators, the Behavior Intervention Assistant serves the educational needs of disadvantaged youth and “at‑risk” students as assigned, providing specialized assistance to students and educators – addressing social, economic, and academic needs of students experiencing school behavior problems, parent/child conflicts, runaway, truancy, classroom paraprofessional duties, etc. This position seeks to resolve issues at the earliest possible level and in the least stigmatizing way.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
9.25 month (190 days) contract, Schedule 804 – Range 108 -plus benefits package. NOTE: Precise placement within the salary range will be determined based upon experience and education. FLSA: Non-Exempt

Mental Functions, Physical Requirements, and Working Conditions:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, go up and downstairs, operate foot and hand controls, use a telephone, and write. Occasionally the employee must lift and move up to twenty (20) or more pounds. In addition, this position requires accurately perceiving sound, near and far vision, depth perception, handling and working with educational materials and objects, and providing oral information. Must have the ability to work for the duration of the daily contracted time and be physically present and at assigned work, with only infrequent unexcused absences, during the contract year. Additional technical skills, knowledge, and abilities may be recommended by the immediate supervisor and approved by the Human Resources Director.
