Job summary

Education Service Center, Region 2 seeks a Special Education Support Specialist to guide campus administrators and staff in implementing special education services, MTSS, and 504 planning while ensuring compliance. The role includes BIP development, FBA planning, IEP goal support, and collaboration with families and districts.

The position requires a Texas teaching certificate with special education endorsements and experience delivering professional learning to educators.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
Valid Texas teaching certificate with required special education endorsements for assignments.
Valid Texas teaching content certificate, or Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) preferred

Responsibilities

Collaborate with administrators and teachers to design and develop research based behavioral intervention plans (BIP).
Provide support to instructional staff in implementing BIPs and classroom management strategies.
Monitor effectiveness of behavior intervention plans and recommend changes as needed.
Conduct functional behavioral assessments (FBA) based on observation of students in school, home, and community environments.
Participate in ARD committee meetings and work with parents to meet IEP goals; participate in MDR as needed.
Manage student behavior and intervene in crisis situations per IEP; assist teachers with lesson planning and behavior management.
