Job summary

Tulls Creek Elementary School in Moyock, NC is seeking an Exceptional Children's Teacher Assistant to support students with disabilities and help implement IEPs in an inclusive classroom.

You will collaborate with the Exceptional Children's Teacher and staff to tailor instructional activities, monitor progress, and support daily living skills. Immediate start, full-time position with competitive salary and benefits.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or 48 college credits are required.
• Experience with children, especially those with disabilities, is desirable.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Exceptional Children's Teacher in implementing IEPs and adapting lessons.
• Support students in academic activities with guidance and encouragement.
• Monitor and document student progress, behavior and social interactions.
• Implement behavior management strategies and support social skills development.
• Prepare instructional materials and classroom resources.
• Provide assistance with daily living skills including self-care and organization.
• Collaborate with teachers, specialists and parents to communicate progress.
• Attend trainings and professional development opportunities.
