Job summary

North Allegheny School District is seeking a Special Education Assistant for North Allegheny Intermediate High School. The position starts August 13, 2026, with an hourly rate of 20.70 and benefits.

Responsibilities include supporting identified students in both regular and special education settings and collaborating with educators to provide needed support. The role requires 48 credits/Associate’s degree or ParaPro, valid clearances, and a commitment to school-year employment of seven hours

Qualifications

• Provide support for identified students in regular and special education environments.
• Collaborate with Inclusion Facilitators, Special Education Teachers and Regular Education Teachers.
• Minimum 48 college credits or an Associate’s degree or ParaPro assessment.
• Current clearances including Child Abuse History Clearance, PA Criminal Record Check, Mandated Reporter training, pre-employment Physical and TB Test.

Responsibilities

• Support students academically, emotionally, socially and physically.
• Work with inclusion facilitators and teachers to implement accommodations.
• Maintain a positive, safe school environment during instructional hours.

The District seeks candidates to fill a Special Education Assistant position at North Allegheny Intermediate High School, effective date to be August, 13, 2026.

A Special Education Assistant will provide support services for identified students assigned to select regular and/or special education environments and will work collaboratively with Inclusion Facilitators, Special Education Teachers and Regular Education Teachers to provide students with academic, emotional, social, behavioral, and physical support.

Special Education Assistant positions work 7 hours per day during the school year only.

Starting Hourly rate will be in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

The rate for the 2026-2027 School Year is $20.70/Hour with a comprehensive individual benefit package available.

Minimum Requirements Include 48 credits of a post-secondary education, Associates Degree, or successful completion of the ParaPro Assessment.

Current clearances are required and include:

• Child Abuse History Clearance


• PA Criminal Record Check


• Mandated Reporter of Child Abuse Training


• Successful candidate will be required to complete a pre-employment Physical and TB Test.
