Job summary

To assist, under direct supervision of certified teachers and specialists, in the monitoring and instruction of special education students implementing the Individual Education Plans; to assist students in performing their academic, daily living and health care activities; to relieve teacher of routine clerical tasks.

Under teacher direction, deliver classroom work, assist in developing instructional materials, and collect data on goals.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree or 60 college credit hours required at time of hire or pass the district ParaPro Test.
• Preferred: High school diploma and experience working with children.
• Proficiency with basic software and ability to support students with disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Deliver classroom work and reinforce objectives under teacher direction.
• Assist in developing instructional materials and maintain the classroom.
• Assist in data collection on academic and behavior goals.
• Collaborate with staff to implement positive behavior plans for students.
• Assist with transitions and daily activities to support student needs.
