Job summary

Educational Service Center of Central Ohio is seeking an Intervention Specialist (Mild-Moderate) for the 2026-2027 school year. The role focuses on planning, implementing, and evaluating learning experiences based on IEPs within central Ohio districts.

The candidate will collaborate with general education staff, manage student behavior, and ensure compliance with state and federal education laws. Local travel to partner districts is required.

Qualifications

• Valid Ohio Special Education Teaching Certificate/License to teach children with disabilities.
• Documentation of a clear criminal record.
• Complies with drug-free workplace rules and board policies.
• Note: may require a valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Provide an educational program for students as defined by the student’s IEP.
• Work cooperatively with general education teachers, teaching assistants, and other providers to modify curriculum and implement research/evidence-based interventions.
• Utilize assessment and progress monitoring methods to assess student performance and inform instruction and progress.
• Communicate regularly with parents and professional staff regarding students’ needs.
• Incorporate instructional technology and uphold the acceptable use policy.
• Seek professional growth to advance knowledge and skills.
• Comply with Federal and state policies for education of students with disabilities and complete required reports on time.
• Follow medical plans and assist with student care as trained.
• Uphold ethical and professional responsibilities and maintain confidentiality.
• Adapt to travel and variable hours; transport students as needed.
• Complete other duties as assigned by the Superintendent.
