Special Education Assistant

Starting wage: $15.60 per hour

Location: Pathfinder Middle School

Qualifications : Minimum

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior experience in working with students with special needs.
  • Ability to interact in a positive manner with students and staff.
  • Knowledge and/or experience with, or aptitude to learn to assist with students’ behavior, medical or communication issues as assigned. Ability to lift and assist student as needed.
  • Demonstrated record of good attendance.

Preferred:

  • Prior experience in working in an educational setting.
  • Prior experience in working with special needs students.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distant vision and the ability to adjust focus. The ability to travel to other buildings is required. The position requires the individual to sometimes work irregular or extended work hours and meet multiple demands from several people.
