Job summary

The School City of Hammond is seeking a qualified professional to ensure the effective implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and assist general education teachers. Responsibilities include planning education for students with disabilities and developing IEP services.

Ideal candidates will possess a Bachelor’s Degree and an Indiana Teacher’s License in Exceptional Needs Mild Interventions or Intense Interventions. A strong sense of dependability and the ability to work collaboratively are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in education.
• Holder of an Indiana Teacher’s License for Exceptional Needs.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement education for students with mild and/or moderate disabilities.
• Develop and implement IEP services for students.
• Monitor IEP service implementation regularly.
• Inform teachers of specific IEP responsibilities.

Job description

Ensure full and appropriate implementation of IEPs and provide assistance to general education teachers and other service providers in the general education setting.

Specific Responsibilities In This Position

• To plan and implement the education of students with mild and/or moderate disabilities
• IEP development and implementation of services to students
• Participate in case conferences to assist in developing measurable IEP goals, benchmarks and objectives
• Regularly monitor the implementation of planned IEP services
• Inform teachers and other providers of their specific responsibilities related to the implementation of each student’s IEP
• Assurance of accommodations on state/district assessments
• Records management and maintenance

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree; Indiana Teacher’s License-Exceptional Needs Mild Interventions or Intense Interventions
