Job summary

Waco ISD is seeking an Aide - Special Education at Kendrick Elementary to assist a Special Education teacher with implementing student IEPs and maintaining instructional materials. The role requires assisting students with physical and personal care needs, data collection, and supporting behavior plans.

Qualifications include an Associate degree or 60 college hours, and a valid Texas educational aide certificate.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or 60 college hours or Paraprofessional Institute Certificate.
• Valid Texas educational aide certificate.
• Experience with children is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist Special Education teacher with implementing student IEPs.
• Prepare instructional materials under guidance of teachers.
• Maintain a neat, orderly learning environment.
• Assist with inventory, care and maintenance of equipment.
• Collect data daily and prepare required reports under supervision.
• Assist students with physical needs, including transfers and positioning.
• Assist with personal care needs, including feeding and bathroom assistance.
• Support behavior intervention plans and use approved strategies.
• Intervene in crisis situations per district procedures for safety.
• Maintain professional communication with parents, students, and staff.
• Supervise students in various settings (classroom, cafeteria, bus, outdoors).
• Maintain FERPA confidentiality and participate in staff development.
• Assist with additional duties related to Special Education as assigned.
