Job summary

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or two years of study at an institute of higher learning required.
• Valid Texas educational aide certificate needed.
• Experience working with children is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist Special Education teacher in implementing student IEP's.
• Help maintain a neat and orderly learning environment.
• Assist with students' physical and personal care needs.

Skills

Ability/willingness to work with children with disabilities

Ability to follow verbal and written instructions

Ability to communicate effectively with adults and children

Ability to remain calm in stressful situations

Ability to adapt to changes in routine and needs of students

Ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics

Ability to use basic job-related equipment (computer, projector, copier, scanner, etc.)

Ability to work with and effectively communicate with diverse groups

Education

Associate's degree or two years of study (60 college hours)

Valid Texas educational aide certificate
