Job summary

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Certification as Educational Aide II.
• Completion of 15 college hours or a Paraprofessional Exam passing score.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Minimum 8 hours training in physical restraint and crises intervention.
• Ability to document data accurately.

Responsibilities

• Assist teacher by providing instruction and behavioral interventions for assigned students.
• Utilize safe procedures of physical intervention with acting-out students.
• Apply positive and negative reinforcement to guide student behavior.
• Supervise time-out and/or isolation of students as needed.
• Monitor and document data for student records.
• Support preparation of instructional materials and routine records.
• Monitor students in settings outside the special education classroom.
• Maintain student confidentiality at all times.
• May supervise classroom activities in the absence of the teacher.
• Demonstrate CCISD Core Values in daily work and collaborate with the team.
