Job summary

Maury County Public Schools is seeking a dedicated paraprofessional to attend to the personal needs of disabled students and support daily classroom activities. You will assist with mobility, feeding, dressing, and supervision, provide clerical help to teachers, and help set up learning equipment while maintaining confidentiality of student records.

This role emphasizes teamwork under the classroom teacher, participation in district restraint/de-escalation training, and performing other duties

Qualifications

• Ability to work under supervision of the classroom teacher.
• Assists with student management and personal care tasks.
• Maintains strict confidentiality of student records.

Responsibilities

• Attends to the personal needs of the disabled student.
• Helps students to walk, board buses, put on prosthetic appliances, eat, dress, and perform other physical activities as their needs arise.
• Assists with student management.
• Provides clerical assistance to teachers.
• Sets up and operates learning/development equipment and materials.
• Tutors students.
• Assumes responsibility for knowing and following the safety rules and proper procedures associated with the responsibilities of the job.
• Regards information on students records in the school setting as strictly confidential.
• Participates in Restraint / De-escalation training provided by the district.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
