Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate degree or coursework in education, special education, human services, or related field preferred.
• Experience with students with disabilities in school or therapeutic settings preferred.
• No teaching certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the classroom teacher with instructional and non-instructional activities.
• Work with students individually and in small groups to provide individualized academic support.
• Support student supervision in classrooms, hallways, lunchrooms, and other school settings.
• Help create a safe, structured, and positive learning environment.
• Support students' academic, behavioral, social, and emotional growth.
• Implement behavior management strategies and Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) techniques when necessary.
• Serve as a positive role model and support students in developing appropriate social and emotional skills.
• Collaborate with teachers, school staff, and other members of the educational team.
• Assist with classroom organization, record keeping, and general classroom support.
