Job summary

Port Neches Groves ISD's Groves Primary School seeks an Aide-Sp Ed Specialized Academic Instruction to support classroom teachers. Position requires paraprofessional certification or 48 college hours (or an Associate Degree) with preferred experience as an Educational Aide.

Eligible for state paraprofessional certification; Highly Qualified status required. Immediate starting date; salary listed as district schedule.

Qualifications

• Education: Paraprofessional Certification Training that meets NCLB requirements or minimum 48 college hours and/or Associate Degree.
• Experience: Educational Aide experience preferred.
• Licenses/Other: Eligible for state Paraprofessional Certification or alternatives acceptable to the district; Documentation of Highly Qualified status.

Responsibilities

• Perform clerical duties for the professional staff.
• Conduct learning reinforcement activities under the direction of the professional teacher.
• Care for the personal, social, educational and health needs as required by professional staff.
• Assist with and assume duties that will relieve professional staff.
• Other duties as assigned by the principal.
