Job summary

Lee County Schools - AL is seeking a Special Education Multi Disabled Aide for an elementary setting. The role supports handicapped students with physical and emotional needs to maximize benefits from the district’s program.

Responsibilities include assisting with therapy recommendations, feeding and hygiene tasks, mobility support, and supervision under a special education teacher. Employment is nine months with a salary range of $21,303 to $27,851 per year.

Qualifications

• Must comply with all employment criteria legally established by the Lee County Board of Education.
• Must possess a high school diploma or GED.
• Must possess one of the following: Associate’s Degree or 48 college credits or applicable WorkKeys score under ESSA.
• Ability to communicate effectively with students and staff using proper grammar and vocabulary.
• Demonstrated aptitude for successful completion of assigned tasks.
• Alternatives to qualifications may be accepted as deemed appropriate by the Board.

Responsibilities

• Attend on a regular and predictable basis.
• Complete assigned tasks safely and efficiently.
• Uphold Board policies, including anti-harassment rules.
• Work cooperatively with students, teachers, staff, supervisors, and the public.
• Assist with implementation of therapies and support self-care and mobility as needed.
• Provide support during small group activities under supervision of the special education teacher.
• Assist with mobility, transport of assistive devices, and basic daily activities as required.
