Job summary

Douglas County School District is seeking a PARA-EDUCATOR II – SPECIAL EDUCATION to support students under certificated staff supervision. The role adapts activities, reinforces IEP objectives, and assists in general and self-contained classrooms, as well as community settings.

Responsibilities include implementing instructional programs, maintaining safe learning environments, documenting student progress, and coordinating with teachers and support personnel for student success.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• CPR and CPI certifications are preferred.
• Experience with students with disabilities is advantageous.
• Familiarity with IEP objectives is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Adapts activities and materials to support classroom objectives.
• Assists with implementing instructional programs and IEP goals.
• Maintains safe, organized learning environments across settings.
• Documents student progress and daily activities for logs.
• Supports behavior plans and health-related student needs.
• Collaborates with teachers and support staff to enable success.
