Job summary

Frisco ISD is seeking a dedicated Special Education Assistant to support students with disabilities in a Structured Learning Class (SLC). Qualifications include a High School diploma or GED, with an Associate degree preferred. The position may require lifting and assisting students with personal care as needed.

Qualifications

• Requires High School diploma or GED; SBEC certification needed for Educational Aide Certification.
• Associates degree or two years of higher education preferred.

Responsibilities

• Help teacher prepare instructional materials.
• Help teacher keep administrative records and prepare required reports.
• Provide assistance to substitute teachers.
• Assist students with physical disabilities (may require lifting).
• Help manage behavior of students.
• Support students’ instructional needs per IEPs.
• Assist students with personal care as appropriate.
