Job summary

Young World Physical Education is seeking an Instructional Aide - Special Education / Attendant to provide support to students with specialized needs.

This role involves helping to implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and providing behavioral and academic assistance under the supervision of a licensed educator. A high school diploma is required, and experience with disabilities is preferred. The position is 7 hours per day, 5 days a week, with a starting salary of $18.52 per hour.

Qualifications

  • Current Educational Aide Permit from the Ohio Department of Education.

Responsibilities

Description: Instructional Aide - Special Education / Attendant, .875 FTE

Job Summary: The IA - Special Education / Attendant provides individualized academic, behavioral, and personal care support to a designated student with specialized needs in a variety of learning environments.

Working under the supervision of a licensed educator, the aide facilitates student participation in instructional activities, promotes independence, and ensures safety and consistency throughout the school day.

This role is crucial in reinforcing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and Behavior Intervention Pans (BIPs), and maintaining a supportive environment aligned with

the student's learning and care goals.



Qualifications: H igh school diploma or equivalent required.

Current Educational Aide Permit from the Ohio Department of Education valid in Lakota Local Schools.

Successful completion of applicable training (e.g., CPR/First Aid, Crisis Prevention as required).

Prior classroom experience as an aide or paraprofessional preferred.

Experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred.

Working Conditions: 7 hours per day, 5 days per week and 184 days based on a school year calendar.
Per current Lakota salary schedule, starting at $18.52 per hour plus $1.50 differential per hour based on verified experience.
