Job summary

Lincoln County School District is accepting on-line applications for a Special Education Teaching Assistant I position at Waldport High. The role supports special education staff and assists students with disabilities in a small-group setting.

Qualifications

• Assists students with disabilities, individually or in groups, with lesson assignments to present or reinforce learning concepts as directed by teacher.
• Presents subject matter to students using varied methods such as lecture, discussion and role playing as directed by the teacher.
• Provides support with transitions to extracurricular and general classroom activities.

Responsibilities

• Assists students with disabilities in learning activities and reinforces concepts as directed by the teacher.
• Supports with alternative communication methods as needed.
• Assists with student discipline under teacher direction.
• Help with physical management (lifting, moving, positioning, feeding, toileting) under supervision.
