Job summary

The Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, within Missouri Schools for the Severely Disabled (MSSD), seeks a Teacher Aide to implement student instructional programs and support classroom activities. You will follow behavior plans, assist with daily self-care, and help students communicate.

The role requires maintaining confidentiality, passing CPR training, and participating in ongoing in-service hours.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or G.E.D. required.
• Experience working with individuals with severe disabilities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implement student instructional program as directed by teacher.
• Follow behavior support plans of individual students.
• Accommodate for each student’s communication needs.
• Follow daily schedule of work activities.
• Perform daily self-care needs of students (e.g., diapering, feeding, hand washing).
• Follow student health procedures as trained by the school nurse.
• Assist with arrival/dismissal and transfers to/from bus and classroom.
• Maintain confidentiality of student and staff information.
• Maintain CPR certification per health guidelines.

Education

High School diploma or G.E.D.

Experience working with individuals with severe disabilities is preferred.
