Job summary

Loudoun County Public Schools is seeking an instructional aide to assist teachers of students with physical or intellectual disabilities. You will perform instructional duties, prepare classroom materials, supervise students, and help with personal care under the teacher's guidance.

The role requires supporting language, behavioral, and academic goals, while coordinating with therapists and staff. This position is 10 months, 7 hours per day, with a non-exempt status.

Qualifications

• Follow teacher plans and assist with instructional activities.
• Support small groups and individual students to meet objectives.
• Capable of operating standard office and classroom equipment.

Responsibilities

• Collect and record student data on practice, seizures, and toileting.
• Provide discipline in the absence of the teacher and maintain procedures.
• Implement behavior modification plans.
• Assist with language-focused activities as directed by therapists.
• Supervise centers and help students handle materials.
• Participate in classroom activities and assist with lessons.
• Operate AV equipment and classroom technology.
