Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE) – Georgia Academy for the Blind is hiring an experienced Special Education Teacher for students with multiple disabilities in self-contained classrooms.

Candidates must hold or be eligible for a Georgia Clear Teacher Certificate in Special Education Adaptive Curriculum and Special Education for the Visually Impaired, with knowledge of AAC and tech for multi-disabled learners.

Qualifikationen

• Must possess or be eligible to obtain a Georgia Teacher Certificate in Special Ed., Adaptive Curriculum
• Must be eligible in Special Education for the Visually Impaired
• Knowledge of Alternative/Augmentative Communication (AAC) and basic computer tech for multi-disabled learners

Aufgaben

• Assess and document students’ educational needs to develop instructional plans.
• Develop appropriate instructional materials and adapt curriculum for visually impaired/multi-disabled students.
• Integrate assistive technology into classroom activities and use innovative instructional techniques.
• Teach visually impaired/multi-disabled students across EC (P-5), Middle (4-8) or High School.
