Job summary

The Illinois Association of School Administrators is seeking a HILIA Special Education Teacher to work with students who have visual impairments, are deaf/hard of hearing, or have learning and behavioral needs. The teacher will provide direct services, create lesson plans, and manage a caseload with high-quality instruction.

Collaborating with a team of special educators and general education colleagues to design programs for students with IEPs, the role supports evolving caseloads as the HILIA

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Special Education and licensure in education.
  • Preferred: Braille and assistive technology skills.
  • Preferred: sign language skills.

Responsibilities

  • Create lesson plans and deliver direct services to students.
  • Manage a caseload of students.
  • Implement high-quality instruction.
  • Collaborate with special and general education colleagues to plan for IEPs.
  • Caseload and responsibilities may change during the year.
