Job summary

Kennedy Krieger Institute, Inc. seeks a dedicated Physical Education Teacher for its Fairmount Campus to implement the IEP-based program in an 11-month non-public setting, delivering instruction to diverse learners. The role emphasizes safety, engagement, and high-quality educational support.

The teacher will collaborate with families, IEP teams, and school staff, using data-driven instruction and technology where appropriate to meet individual student needs and promote independence.

Qualifications

• Eligibility for MSDE Special Education Certificate required.
• If Maryland Conditional Certificate, must complete MSDE requirements for Professional certificate.
• Experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a classroom environment conducive to learning and safety.
• Collaborate with parents/guardians and IEP team members.
• Communicate effectively with students, staff, and families in meetings and in-services.
• Implement instruction with data-informed, evidence-based practices and accessible plans.
• Develop measurable short/long-term plans aligned with standards and curricula.

Bachelor's Degree in Special Education

Master's Degree in Special Education

Master's Degree + 30 credits
