Job summary

Brainerd Public Schools is seeking a Special Education Assistant - EBD at Forestview Middle School. The paraprofessional will help execute IEP goals, support behavior and independence skills, and assist in both resource room and inclusive settings.

Responsibilities include supervision during lunch, field trips, and activities, plus collaboration with teachers and related staff to ensure student progress and safety in various school settings.

Qualifications

• Meet highly-qualified paraprofessional requirements as listed by the district.
• Experience with students with physical, cognitive or mild behavioral needs.
• Certification in Handle with Care within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing IEP goals and accommodations across environments.
• Support students in resource room and inclusive settings, in group or community activities.
• Collaborate with teachers to deliver classroom instruction and interventions.
• Supervise students during meals, recess, and field trips and monitor safety and progress.
• Develop positive relationships with students and maintain confidentiality.
