Job Summary

The person in this position is a licensed Medical Technologist (MT) responsible for specimen processing, analysis, and results reporting on a day-to-day basis. They perform standard duties of a Medical Technologist and consult with Medical Technologist III if necessary.

Essential Functions

• Perform all duties of a Medical Technologist I independently, demonstrating satisfactory competency in standard procedures.
• Receive and process specimens according to department protocols.
• Design and update procedures to enhance testing efficiency and accuracy.
• Assist supervisors and managers with administrative tasks such as ordering supplies and maintaining inventory.
• Follow all safety precautions and lab procedures as per manuals.
• Produce, interpret, and report accurate test results.
• Identify and resolve issues affecting test performance or reporting.
• Communicate pertinent information to supervisors or managers.
• Perform instrument maintenance and troubleshoot methods.
• Support documentation and maintenance of QA/QC programs.
• Collaborate with other departments within PathGroup and subsidiaries.
• Adhere to the Corporate Compliance Program and all policies, including Privacy and Security.
• Meet productivity expectations set by departmental guidelines.
