Job summary

Paycom - ATS is seeking a CNC Machinist to setup and operate milling equipment for pockets, grooves, and tooling. You will inspect parts, input variables, and ensure parts print to specification while coordinating with Supervisors and Engineers.

This role requires experience with CNC setup, blueprint reading, and quality inspection. You may assist with lifting and will work under the Mill Holders Supervisor in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; AMEC apprentice preferred.
• Experience in blueprint reading and prior grinding, milling, and turning is preferred.
• Proficiency with calipers, micrometers, indicators, scales, and inspection equipment.

Responsibilities

• Setup and run special product, prototypes and tooling on CNC Mills and Bridgeport Mill.
• Inspect parts for quality per inspection plan.
• Input program variables to meet print specifications.
• Perform root cause analysis and communicate issues to support teams.
• Process orders according to schedule and stage product for next operation.
• Deburr parts prior to next operation.
• May lift 32 lbs or more; push loads up to 100 lbs.
• Observe and report areas needing attention through established channels.
• Contribute to quality, delivery, cost reduction, and customer satisfaction initiatives.

THIS POSITION REPORTS TO: Mill Holders Supervisor

JOB TITLES REPORTING TO THIS POSITION: None

ROLE: To effectively Mill Pockets, Chip Grooves, Dirt Grooves, Thread Mill, on Special holders, Proto types and some tooling to print specifications. Mill ball form tools and Chamfer rings, Drill Coolant outlets, and mill special keyways. Follow applicable schedules. Work with Supervisors and Engineers as needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Setup and run special product, prototypes and tooling on CNC Mills, Bridgeport Mill.
• Inspect parts for quality per appropriate inspection plan.
• Input program variables as needed to create a finish product to print specifications.
• Perform root cause analysis on any problems that may arise, make necessary changes or notify appropriate support groups through proper channels
• Process orders, according to appropriate schedule and /or supervisor’s direction, and properly stage product for next operation.
• Deburr parts before next operation as needed.
• May be required to lift, or assist with lifting, 30 pounds or more.
• Observe and report any areas that need addressed through established systems, channels and forms.
• Any other assignment to improve the quality, delivery, reduce cost and improve customer satisfaction determined to be necessary by management.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education

• High school graduate or GED equivalent.
• AMEC Apprentice graduate or current student preferred.

Experience

• Working knowledge in the manufacture of holders, preferred.
• In depth knowledge of blueprint reading, preferred.
• Experience in the use of optical comparator and other inspection equipment, preferred.
• CNC machine set up and operation, preferred.
• Experience in programming and trigonometry, preferred.
• Previous grinding, milling, and turning operations, preferred.

Skills

• Ability to organize, communicates, and plan activities.
• Ability to lift 32 lbs.
• Able to push loads of 100lbs.
