Job summary

AccentCare is seeking a Special Attendant to provide in-home personal care across Dutchess, Ulster, Orange, and Putnam Counties in New York. You will follow the established service plan to help clients function at home and in the community.

Flexibility for scheduling and on-call rotation is required. Preferred bilingual English/Spanish; must be 18+, have a valid driver's license, and reliable transportation to support caregiving visits.

Qualifications

• Six continuous months of experience in delivering personal care tasks in family care, primary home care, personal assistance services, or as a nurse's aide.
• Bilingual (English & Spanish) preferred.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Must not be the parent of a minor child or spouse of client - on service with the agency.
• Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation with current automobile liability insurance.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care assistance to the client in accordance with the established service plan to enable the client to function in the home and community.
• Initiate services, prevent a break in service, and provide ongoing service.
• Perform services as identified on the Service Plan.
• Report significant changes in client's circumstances or condition to the supervisor and emergencies to appropriate individuals per written policies.
• Check safety measures on an ongoing basis for client and attendant protection.

What You Need to Know

Special Attendant Responsibilities:

• Responsible for providing personal care assistance services to the client in accordance with the established service plan to enable the client to function in the home and community.
• Special Attendants are utilized to initiate services, prevent a break in service, and provide on-going service.
• Responsible for providing personal assistance services to the client in accordance with the established service plan to enable the client to function in the home and community.
• Must be flexible for scheduling. Participate in an On-Call rotation. Perform services as identified on the Service Plan.
• Report to the supervisor any significant changes in client's circumstances or condition. Report emergency situations to appropriate individuals in accordance with written policies.
• Check for safety measures to be taken on an on-going basis for client and attendant protection.
