Job summary

First National Bank of Omaha is seeking a senior specialist to lead recovery of past-due loans within DFS and related portfolios. You will guide loan restructuring, support data-driven insights for senior leadership, and coordinate with legal teams and vendors to maximize recoveries.

The role requires 5+ years in special assets or loan workouts, a finance-related bachelor’s degree, and strong negotiation and documentation skills.

Qualifications

• Proven track record managing non-performing loans and distressed assets.
• 5+ years of direct experience in special assets, loan workouts, or problem loan resolution.
• Bachelor's degree in finance, business, accounting, or a related field.
• Strong negotiation skills with borrowers, attorneys and vendors.
• Excellent documentation and analytical reporting capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with external legal counsel and manage resources for loan settlements involving bankruptcy or litigation.
• Ensure adherence to settlement laws and borrower rights in line with department policies.
• Participate in collection and recovery activities with customers, third parties and legal representatives.
• Exercise approval authority for expenditures including legal fees and repossession costs.
• Manage repossessed equipment lifecycle from reporting to final sale with compliance to UCC filings and state laws.
