Job summary

Qualifications

Position Summary:

  • Conduct in-depth analysis of high-risk borrowers and prepare a course of action for each loan.
  • Restructure, renew and carry out courses of action from inception to final resolution.
  • Interface with contracted professionals such as attorneys, appraisers, and collateral inspectors.
  • In conjunction with attorneys, handle bankruptcies, attend court hearings, mediations.
  • Foreclose and liquidate collateral as necessary.
  • Handle calling on SBA guarantees.
  • Monitor the banks past dues and overdrafts and follow up with lenders on concerns.
  • Ensure proper loan grading and accrual status of problem loans.
  • Evaluate collateral values and advise on specific reserves needed.
  • Prepare internal and external special asset reports.
  • Voting member of Special Assets Committee

  • Follows policies and procedures; completes administrative tasks correctly and on time; supports the Bank’s goals and values; benefits the bank through outside activities.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited 4-year college or university is preferred, and more than 7 years of related experience and/or training at a financial institution in the special assets/problem loan workout department; or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Work related experience should consist of a financial institution special assets/problem loan workout department background.
  • Educational experience, through formal school or financial industry related curriculum, should be business or financial industry related.
  • Intermediate knowledge of rules and regulations related to consumer collections, foreclosure proceedings, other real estate owned.
  • Intermediate knowledge of SBA 7(a) and 504 loans, and the process for collections and calling on SBA guarantees.
  • Basic skills in computer terminal and personal computer operation, including Word and Excel.
  • Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to deal with difficult problems involving multiple facets and variables in non-standardized situations.
  • Effective organizational and time management skills.
  • Current driver’s license and a vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage if required to drive in the course of performing assigned duties and responsibilities.
  • Basic knowledge of related state and federal banking compliance regulations, and other Bank operational policies.
  • Ability to deal with difficult problems involving multiple facets and variables in non-standardized situations.
  • Effective organizational and time management skills.

Supervisory Responsibility

None.

Position Type:

This position is a full-time, exempt position. Typical work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm.

Travel:

Some travel between Third Coast Bank offices may be required.
