Job summary

Pathward, National Association is seeking an experienced asset management professional to manage a portfolio of Classified loans within the Special Assets Group. You will coordinate with SAG Leader and Senior AEs to drive exit strategies, minimize losses, and ensure compliance with risk and profitability standards.

Responsibilities include restructuring distressed loans, reporting asset quality, and maintaining strong business-unit relationships for smooth asset transitions.

About the Role

Manage all aspects of an assigned portfolio of Classified loans, and provide support to Leaders and Senior AEs in Special Assets Group, including identifying exit and recovery strategies ensuring the relationships meet corporate standards for risk, profitability, factoring and asset-based lending services, and financial controls.

What You Will Do

• Work closely with SAG Leader and others to manage the portfolio, including direct portfolio management of Classified loans.
• Take timely action to minimize client losses and ensure they do not exceed budgeted standards.
• Assist with the restructuring and liquidation of distressed loans.
• Ensure timely and accurate reporting of asset quality, impairment, and charge-offs.
• Maintain strong relationships with business units to ensure smooth asset transitions.
• Monitor collateral values and ensure compliance with loan covenants and regulatory requirements.
• Assist with implementation of workout action plans, including restructurings, forbearance agreements, legal actions, evaluating bank collateral and documentation, and recommending alternative solutions including judgment/foreclosure litigation, asset liquidation and bankruptcy.
• Ensure all advances and loans comply with loan policy and approved structure with required legal documentation.
• Manage the portfolio with up-to-date knowledge of the client’s financial condition, management performance and industry trends, taking timely action to minimize losses within budgeted standards.
• Other duties as assigned.

What You Will Need

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and work experience
• 5+ years of experience in commercial banking, credit risk, with emphasis in special assets management
• Experience in collection, loan restructuring, and workout
• Thorough knowledge of banking regulations and compliance
• Project management workout experience
• Experience in alternative energy workout (including solar, battery, and RNG)
• Experience with SBA and USDA workouts
• Customer service
• Strong communication skills (verbal & written)
• Collaboration
• Financial acumen

Salary range: $104,000 - $174,000
