Salary Range: $90,300 - $98,500

DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Protects company assets, personnel, property, and customer property entrusted to the company.
  2. Conducts corporate and criminal investigations, provides detailed reports, and testifies in court when required.
  3. Identifies and handles trespassers on company property and makes arrests as appropriate.
  4. Counsels and advises company officials to reduce crime and accidents; coordinates emergency responses; supervises contract security guards; trains employees on relevant matters.
  5. Performs crime prevention patrols of facilities, railroad property, and trains, especially around high-value shipments.
  6. Performs other duties as assigned.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Completed basic police training at a recognized state-certified academy.
  • Meets peace officer standards in the state of employment, with valid licensing.
  • Meets BNSF Resource Protection Solutions Team standards as a Special Agent.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel.
  • Proficient in using computer systems for reports and databases.
  • Physically and psychologically fit; able to pass company evaluations and background checks.
  • Successfully completes required training.
  • Broad knowledge of railroad operations and emergency handling.
  • Knowledge of criminal law and procedures.
  • Ability to lead in stressful situations.
  • Willing to relocate within 50 miles of the work location.
  • At least 18 months of experience as a full-time peace officer with law enforcement or railroad security agency.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Union: Allied Services Division, Transportation-Communications Union.
  • Dues required per union agreement.
