Job summary

State of California’s Department of Justice seeks an experienced Assistant Chief to serve as Special Agent-in-Charge of the Protection Section. You will supervise the Dignitary Protection Unit, Threat Assessment Group, and Facilities Protection Unit, directing investigations involving the Attorney General and family.

Job description

Under the general direction of the Division of Law Enforcement (DLE), Assistant Chief, the Special Agent-in-Charge (SAC) is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the activities of the programs within the Protection Section (PS), including: the Dignitary Protection Unit (DPU), Threat Assessment Group (TAG) and Facilities Protection Unit (FPU). The incumbent will oversee sensitive and complex investigations against the Attorney General (AG) and/or their family. This position is also responsible for establishing and updating policies and maintaining oversight of departmental training.
