Job summary

The FBI is seeking a Special Agent to safeguard the nation from cyber threats, terrorism, fraud, and evolving risks. The role emphasizes high-stakes investigations, cross-agency collaboration, and rigorous training for national security challenges.

Candidates must be U.S. citizens with a bachelor's degree or higher, meet specified law enforcement or advanced-degree criteria, be eligible for Top-Secret SCI clearance, pass the Physical Fitness Test, and be willing to relocate to FBI field offices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher from a U.S. accredited college or university.
• Two years of full-time work experience and a bachelor's degree or one year of full-time work experience and a master's/doctorate degree for GL-10.
• One year of full-time sworn law enforcement experience and a bachelor's degree OR advanced degree for GL-09.
• Must be eligible for Top-Secret SCI clearance and able to possess a firearm.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct investigations of potential violations of federal laws.
• Exercise judgment, resourcefulness, and versatility in investigative demands.
• Create and maintain liaison relationships with federal, state, local, tribal, territorial and international law enforcement agencies.
• Coordinate and/or participate in searches, seizures, and arrests.
• Carry a firearm and be willing to use force, including deadly force, if necessary.
• Maintain a high level of physical fitness to perform duties.
