Qualifications

  • Seven years of software development experience required.
  • Seven+ years with Java and/or C# for full-stack apps.
  • Five+ years building modern web apps (JavaScript/TypeScript/Node/HTML/CSS).
  • Three+ years with AWS and/or Azure in production.
  • Experience delivering enterprise-scale software in Agile environments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead on a Scrum team across all SDLC phases.
  • Design and implement scalable cloud-native software using SOA.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and Product Owners.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced technical leader to play a key role on a high-performing software development team focused on building best-in-class cloud-based solutions. This position requires deep expertise in AWS technologies and a strong understanding of modern software architecture and engineering practices. In this role, you will champion service-oriented design principles, help define and implement automated deployment strategies, and drive the successful release of system components into AWS environments. You will collaborate closely with software engineers, architects, clinical analysts, and other cross-functional product team members to deliver innovative, scalable, and reliable solutions. The ideal candidate is a collaborative and enthusiastic team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment. You may also engage directly with customers to gather system requirements, troubleshoot operational challenges, and ensure successful outcomes. The ability to manage competing priorities, adapt to change, and consistently deliver high-quality results is essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as a technical leader on an Agile Scrum team, actively participating in all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), including solution design, development, testing, code reviews, deployment, and continuous improvement.
  • Design, develop, and implement scalable, cloud-native software solutions utilizing Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) principles and modern software engineering best practices.
  • Collaborate with software architects, software engineers, product owners, product analysts, and quality analysts to design and deliver high-quality, reliable systems that meet business and customer needs.
  • Implement software components and services based on business requirements, architectural direction, and detailed design specifications.
  • Establish, maintain, and enhance deployment, operational, and maintenance strategies, including automation of Windows and Linux workloads across AWS and private cloud environments.
  • Champion team coding standards, design guidelines, development best practices, and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure the delivery of high-quality, maintainable software.
  • Assist in resolving escalated customer support issues by providing technical expertise and root cause analysis.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, cloud-hosted production environment, effectively managing multiple priorities, evolving requirements, and challenging delivery timelines.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation as needed to support production systems and ensure operational excellence.
  • Actively contribute to corporate programs, initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts while maintaining compliance with company policies, professional standards, quality expectations, and ethical business practices.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field AND Seven (7) years of software development experience.
  • High School Diploma/GED with a minimum of twelve (12) years of relevant software development experience in lieu of a degree.
  • AND In addition to the above requirements, the following are also required:
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of experience designing, developing, and supporting full-stack applications using Java and/or C#.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience developing modern web applications using technologies such as JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, HTML, and CSS.
  • Minimum of three (3) years Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS and/or Microsoft Azure.
  • Proven ability to design, develop, test, and deploy enterprise-scale software solutions in Agile development environments.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience designing and developing web services and APIs using REST, JSON, XML, GraphQL, and related technologies.
  • Experience developing cloud-native applications utilizing micro-frontend (MFE) architectures.
  • Knowledge of DevOps principles, CI/CD practices, and modern software delivery methodologies.
  • Experience with AWS services such as EC2, ECS, Lambda, API Gateway, S3, and Service Catalog.
  • Experience implementing Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) and Test-Driven Development (TDD) methodologies.
  • Experience with modern front-end frameworks and libraries, including Angular, React, PrimeNG, and Node.js.
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with continuous integration and deployment platforms, including GitHub Actions, AWS CodePipeline, or similar technologies.
  • Proficiency in scripting and programming languages such as PowerShell, Bash, Python, Java, C#, and TypeScript.
  • Experience with relational and NoSQL database technologies.
  • Strong understanding of source control and collaborative development workflows using Git, including branching strategies, pull requests, and code reviews.
  • Knowledge of user interface design principles, usability, accessibility, and human-centered design practices.
  • Experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, and custom AI agents to improve software engineering productivity and quality.
  • Understanding of network architecture, application security, performance optimization, and cloud security best practices.
  • Healthcare industry experience, including familiarity with healthcare workflows, regulations, and interoperability standards.
  • Experience with HL7 and FHIR standards and healthcare data integrations.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively across technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate complex issues, identify root causes, and develop effective solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical initiatives, collaborate across cross-functional teams, and mentor other engineers while delivering high-quality software solutions.

Salary and Compensation

Applicable to US Applicants Only: The expected compensation range for this position is $124,000 - $170,500, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience. In addition, this position may be eligible for a range of benefits (e.g., Medical, Dental & Vision, Health Savings Accounts, Health Care & Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts, Disability Benefits, Life Insurance, Voluntary Benefits, Paid Absences and Retirement Benefits, etc.). Onboarding Requirement

To improve the onboarding experience, you will have an opportunity to meet with your manager and other new employees as part of the Solventum new employee orientation. As a result, new employees hired for this position will be required to travel to a designated company location for on-site onboarding during their initial days of employment.
