Job summary

Mercy is seeking an Advanced IR Special Procedures Technologist to perform advanced imaging procedures, including fluoroscopy and interventional radiology, while supporting diagnosing and treating patients. You will operate specialized equipment, ensure patient safety, and provide critical support during complex procedures.

The role also involves training and serving as a resource within a collaborative health care team.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist Program with required clinical hours or RCIS training certification.
• 2 years of relevant experience
• ARRT (R) or RCIS; Basic Life Support (BLS)

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced imaging procedures, including fluoroscopy and interventional radiology.
• Operate specialized imaging equipment, ensuring patient safety and comfort.

Position Details

Experience: 2 years of relevant experience

Licensure: State licensure may be required depending on the specific state of practice.

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency in operating imaging equipment and using imaging software to acquire high‑quality diagnostic images.
• Skilled in effectively communicating with patients, explaining procedures, addressing concerns, and providing emotional support.
• Ability to communicate and work effectively within a healthcare team, collaborating with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare staff to ensure optimal patient care and outcomes.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow complex instructions.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.

Physical Requirements

• Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
• Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift.
• Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
