Rocketdyne in Ohio is seeking a Material Planner to plan, order and monitor material for production. The role involves scheduling and forecasting material volumes, ensuring availability, and coordinating with manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and engineering to meet delivery commitments.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of material planning experience and strong ERP/MRP skills, preferably with Deltek Costpoint and Microsoft Project.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in a relevant field.
• 3–5 years of material planning experience.

• Strong knowledge of material ordering, supply chain and inventory.

Responsibilities

• Schedule the supply of materials to meet production requirements and maintain minimum safety stock.

• Check MRP action messages daily and ensure data accuracy.
• Understand and manage risk to minimize impact to production schedule.
• Follow up on material shortages that affect production.
• Monitor the integrity of the Bill of Materials (BOM).
• Proficiency with MS Project and Deltek Costpoint.
• Make moderate to significant improvements to systems and processes to improve performance.
• Engage in complex problem solving and information gathering as needed.

Looking for a Material Planner to help plan, order and monitor material. This is a material planning position, with responsibilities for scheduling and forecasting the right volumes of materials, goods and products inbound to the business from supply chain. This role contains functions that are necessary foremanning the flow of inventory and able to deliver efficient, effective and flexible solutions to meet production requirements. Selected candidate will workfrom engineering plans and production specifications to ensure materials are provided according to schedules. They will advise management of the status of work in progress, coordinate with manufacturing, quality, and supply chain and interfaces with engineering and program management as well as external customers. Ensure availability of materials and labor to meet production requirements and delivery commitments. Works to resolve material shortages, backlogs, and other potential schedule interruptions. Minimal supervision of daily activities will be required with independent judgment relative to work activities expected.

Essential Functions

• Schedule the supply of materials to meet production requirements and minimum safety stock levels.
• Assess volume requirements against planning assumptions
• Check MRP action messages daily and ensure that data is accurate and up to date and resolve any issues as required.
• Understand and manage risk to minimize impact to production schedule
• Take follow up actions in relations to material shortages that affect production
• Monitor the integrity of the Bill of Materials (BOM)
• Proficient with industry software such as Microsoft Project and other MRP and ERP systems. Preferably Deltek Costpoint.
• Work consists of making moderate to substantial improvement or enhancements to systems and processes to improve performance of job area
• Opportunities for problem solving and innovation are complex and may require comprehensive information gathering, analysis and investigation to understand the problem.

Qualifications

• Proficient knowledge of material ordering, supply chain, and inventory.
• Bachelor’s Degree.
• 3-5 year minimum relavent experience.
• Must understand ERP Manufacturing Planning Systems, ideally Deltek Costpoint.

Preferred Additional Skills

• Experience and understanding of requirements in the requisitioning, purchasing, stocking, control, and issuance of inventory.
• Capable of generating complex spreadsheets and reports utilizing: Excel, PowerPoint and other Microsoft software.
• Previous experience of material planning ideally in defense.
• Knowledge of lean techniques may be advantageous
