Location: Monmouth Medical Center, 300 Second Avenue, Long Branch, NJ 07740

Job Overview:

To assist the OR, Labor & Delivery Nursing Units, ER, Clinics, and various other departments by processing and maintaining supplies and equipment (both sterile and unsterile) required for patient care, diagnosis, and treatment. Demonstrates understanding of Central Service theory, including medical terminology, cleaning, isolation, and the ability to adapt this knowledge to Sterile Processing. Responsible for reporting safety issues such as hazardous environments and medical errors.

Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • CRCST Certification
  • 1-3 years of hospital experience
Scheduling Requirements:
  • Full-Time
  • Evening Shift
  • 40 hours per week
Essential Functions:
  • Selects appropriate cleaning methods for different items using knowledge of cleaning products and procedures in Central Service
  • Processes and maintains surgical instruments for various departments including OR, Delivery Room, Dental clinic, ED, X-Ray, Minor Surgery, and nursing units
  • Assembles instrument trays and baskets for different departments
  • Operates and maintains cleaning machinery such as sterilizers, cart washers, decomats, and drying cabinets
  • Sorts, examines, delints, folds, wraps, and sterilizes linen
  • Performs additional duties as requested
