As Lead Sterile Processing Tech you will assist the manager in overseeing daily technical operations, ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory standards. Support problem‑solving, communication, and staff training. Serve as a knowledgeable resource to the team. This clinically competent, certified Central Sterile Processing professional brings proven expertise in instrumentation, equipment, and current industry standards to guide and support staff effectively.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, organize, and optimize workflow to maximize productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction.
  • Act as a key resource for the team, providing technical guidance, answering questions, and sharing expert‑level knowledge of sterile processing procedures and equipment.
  • Assist in developing and implementing PDCA (Plan‑Do‑Check‑Act) systems for continuous process improvement and take initiative when corrective action is needed.
  • Ensure compliance with departmental policies and procedures as well as all quality, safety, and regulatory/accreditation requirements.
  • Support leadership by monitoring regulatory compliance and addressing deficiencies proactively.
  • Train and mentor new and current team members and students, ensuring orientation and training checklists are completed.
  • Oversee the completion of annual mandatory education and competency assessments for the team.
  • Provide performance feedback to leadership, including coaching or disciplinary recommendations, and assist with performance appraisals.
  • Recommend and support departmental training, quality, safety programs, and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in interviews and candidate selection, offering valuable input in the hiring process.
  • Maintain thorough records and documentation in alignment with policies, procedures, and accreditation requirements.
Qualifications
  • Minimum five years’ experience in the field of Sterile Processing.
  • Previous experience as an Operating Room Technician beneficial.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to relate well with people of diverse backgrounds, training and experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of instruments and equipment used in the department.
  • Knowledge of principles of sterilization and decontamination.
  • Must be able to set priorities.

Credentials

Education
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
  • Associate’s Degree or equivalent from a two‑year college or technical school preferred.

Entry: USD $18.50/Hr.
