Job summary

CoxHealth South in Springfield, MO, seeks a Sterile Processing Educator to coordinate education for the Sterile Processing department. The role includes planning, implementing and evaluating education and training, with accountability for staff credentials and ongoing professional development.

Preferred: Bachelor’s degree or Surgical Technology graduate; CRCST or CBSPD certification; 6 months of Sterile Processing experience. Full-time, day shift, 40 hours weekly.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor’s degree in related field OR Graduate of school of Surgical Technology preferred.
• 6 months of Sterile Processing experience required.
• CRCST or CBSPD certification required; CST/CIS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate all education for Sterile Processing staff.
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate education and training.
• Ensure staff credentials and professional development.
• Coordinate research, education, in-service and evaluation on new products and equipment.

Job Description

The SPD Educator coordinates all education for Sterile Processing. The role includes assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating education and training of the Sterile Processing staff. They will also be accountable for ensuring staff professional development and credentials as well as coordinating the research, education, in-service and evaluation on new products and equipment.

Education

• Required: High school or equivalent
• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in related field OR Graduate of school of Surgical Technology

Experience

• Required: 6 months of Sterile Processing experience

Skills

• Excellent communication skills, verbal, non-verbal and written, including public speaking
• Computer skills in Microsoft office suite
