Job summary

Prep Academy Tutors of Los Angeles is seeking a Spanish-Speaking Academic Tutor to provide one-on-one Spanish instruction to students in grades K–12. The role focuses on Spanish language skills and individualized learning plans tailored to each student’s needs, learning style, and goals.

The ideal candidate is fluent in Spanish, has teaching or tutoring experience, and can differentiate instruction for diverse learners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Master’s degree and/or teaching certification strongly preferred.
• Fluent or highly proficient in Spanish with strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Prior teaching or tutoring experience preferred.
• Experience working with K–12 students is an asset.
• Ability to differentiate instruction for diverse learners.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Reliable transportation.
• Authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one Spanish language instruction to students in grades K–12.
• Support students with Spanish language skills including vocabulary, grammar, reading, writing, conversation, and comprehension.
• Assist students with homework, projects, study skills, and test preparation.
• Develop individualized learning plans based on each student’s needs, learning style, and academic goals.
• Adapt instruction and teaching strategies to meet the needs of diverse learners.
• Track student progress and provide regular updates to families.
• Foster a positive, encouraging, and professional learning environment.
• Build strong relationships with students and families.
• Travel to students’ homes throughout the Los Angeles, California area.

Prep Academy Tutors of Los Angeles is seeking a dedicated, knowledgeable, and compassionate Spanish-Speaking Academic Tutor to support students in grades K–12. The ideal candidate will provide personalized, one-on-one instruction tailored to each student’s academic needs, learning style, and goals, with a particular focus on Spanish language instruction and support.

Schedule & Availability

Tutors create schedules based on their availability and student demand.

Flexible weekday and/or weekend opportunities may be available.

Tutoring sessions are primarily conducted in students’ homes and may vary based on student and family needs.

Requirements

A qualified applicant will have a bachelor’s degree and will also meet at least one of the following criteria:

• You hold a valid California teaching certificate or the equivalent thereof
• You are a current student teacher pursuing a teaching certificate
• You have 2 or more years of experience as a classroom teacher in a private, public, or charter school
• You have experience as a lecturer/course instructor at an accredited U.S. university or college
• You are a Master’s/PhD student with experience as a teaching assistant at an accredited U.S. university or college

Spanish proficiency is required for this position.
