Job summary

AMPed Education in Troy, Michigan is seeking a passionate Spanish Teacher for PK-8 grades. In this contract position, you will plan and conduct immersive Spanish classes tailored for children aged 3-13, both online and in-person.

The ideal candidate should be a fluent Spanish speaker comfortable with virtual teaching via Zoom. Applicants with a background in Elementary Education are preferred. AMPed is committed to providing a supportive teaching environment with opportunities for college tuition reimbursement.

Spanish Teacher – PK‑8 In‑Person and Virtual

Contract position.

Plan and teach small group immersive Spanish classes both online and in‑person for students ages 3‑13.

In Person

• Teach 45‑minute sessions to groups of up to 8 students with the help of a teacher's assistant at our Troy location.
• Create and submit monthly lesson plans and supply lists for approval by the Education Director.
• Start date: Mid July 2023.
• Hours: 3–4 hours per week to start, with additional classes added over time. During the summer, most classes will be daytime/weekday; starting in the fall, evening and weekend classes will be added.

Virtual

• Teach 45‑minute sessions to groups of up to 4 students via Zoom.
• Create and submit monthly lesson plans and supply lists for approval by the Education Director.
• Hours: 2–3 hours per week to start, with additional classes added over time. During the summer, most classes will be daytime/weekday; starting in the fall, evening and weekend classes will be added.

Preference is given to applicants who can teach both in‑person and virtually, but qualified applicants who prefer one mode will also be considered.

Minimum Qualifications

• Experience working with children.
• Comfort using and interacting with children via Zoom.
• Fluent Spanish speaker.
• Well organized and adept at planning age‑appropriate activities for children ages 3‑13.

Preferred Qualifications

• Native Spanish speaker.
• Elementary Education student or degree.
• Applicant should have access to a computer and tablet capable of accessing Zoom. All other supplies will be provided.
