Spanish Teacher – Long-Term Substitute (Approx. September 15, 2025 to January 15, 2026) $65k-$85k

Spanish Instructor – (September 2025 to January 2026 – teacher LOA)

Description – Loyola High School is a premier Catholic, Jesuit high school in Los Angeles that is one of the top-ranked Catholic high schools in California. We are accepting applications from individuals who seek a long-term substitute teaching position. Candidates must demonstrate evidence of effective communication, collaboration, and successful teaching pedagogy.

Subject Taught: Spanish

Requirements

Minimum requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Spanish or related field; fluency in Spanish.

Highly desired qualities: Teacher preparation and/or a teacher credential, as well as experience teaching in a high school setting is highly desired.

Other desirable qualities: Graduate degree in Spanish or related field.

Primary Duties

The individual will teach five periods of a combination of Spanish 1 and 2. This will involve lesson planning, lesson presentation, student assessment, and individualized student support as needed. Faculty members are also part of a professional learning community for one period. The individual will develop, plan, and present lessons to students in a classroom, utilizing course material and other appropriate learning material. The individual will supervise, monitor, and evaluate students, establish and maintain standards of student behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom, maintain appropriate and timely records of student progress, communicate with parents, and establish and maintain an effective environment for students in order to foster learning.
