Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Massachusetts Educator License as a Spanish Teacher for grades 8–12.
• Knowledge of content, curriculum, methods, materials, and equipment of second language acquisition.
• Strong computer skills with technology in a 1:1 environment.
• Knowledge of federal laws protecting educational services for students with disabilities.
• Ability to select instructional planning, management and evaluation procedures for diverse learners.
• Ability to apply current research and theory to instructional programs.
• Familiarity with the district program of studies, mission, goals, and organization.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement instruction for grades 8–12 in Spanish based on district curriculum.
• Assess student abilities related to educational goals using assessments.
• Create an environment that reinforces communication skills.
• Utilize multimedia and technology to enhance learning.
• Differentiate materials and methods to meet student needs.
• Coordinate activities and collaborate with staff to maximize learning opportunities.
• Participate in staff development and meetings.
• Continuously assess student achievement and maintain documentation.
• Communicate with students and parents about progress and expectations.
• Manage learning time to maximize achievement.
• Ensure a healthy, safe, attractive classroom with accessible materials.
• Support school activities and fundraising.
• Collaborate with professionals to support school-wide activities.
• Sponsor or coordinate clubs and contests to enhance relationships.
• Provide other duties as assigned by the Principal.
