Welcome to ATX Learning. Buncombe County Schools in Asheville, NC, seek a Spanish Teacher to develop students' proficiency in speaking, reading and writing, with differentiated instruction. The role is 100% employed and continues 10 months with full benefits.

Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's degree, 18 semester hours of relevant coursework, and a 2.7 GPA. Alternative licensure paths (Emergency/Residency) are noted; licensure questions can be directed to the licensure specialist.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 18 semester hours of relevant coursework required.
• GPA 2.7 (undergraduate or graduate) required.
• Must be able to produce an official, degree‑dated transcript.

Responsibilities

• Provide Spanish instruction to develop speaking, reading and writing proficiency.
• Utilize differentiated techniques and strategies for diverse learners.
• Collaborate with the School Principal and staff as part of the teaching team.

Pay Range: State Teacher Salary + [10.5% - 18% local supplement]

Position Purpose: Under the general supervision of the School Principal, the Spanish Teacher provides specialized instruction for the purposes of developing Spanish proficiency in speaking, reading and writing while utilizing appropriate differentiated techniques and strategies.

Minimum Degree Level: Bachelor's Degree (click here for more info about Master's pay) Alternative Licensed Pathways: If you are offered a position with BCS, our licensure specialist can share information on the 1-year Emergency License and later work with you to convert this to a Residency License.
