Job summary

Conifer Health Solutions in Valley Baptist Brownsville is seeking a Patient Access professional to support registration, pre-admission, and discharge activities, coordinating hospital services and ensuring payer requirements are met.

You will analyze ADT and Revenue Cycle data, lead shift Patient Access Operations, and collaborate with department leaders to improve processes while maintaining strong customer service and accuracy.

Qualifications

• Minimum typing skills of 35 wpm
• Demonstrated working knowledge of software/system/equipment/PCs
• Knowledge of function and relationships within a hospital environment preferred
• Advance Customer service skills and experience
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment
• Ability to receive and express detailed information through oral and written communications
• Advanced Understanding of Third Party Payor requirements preferred
• Advanced Understanding of Compliance standards preferred
• Advanced Patient Liability Collection performance and high achievement in productivity
• Must be able to perform essential job duties in at least three Patient Access service areas including ED
• Uses proper negotiation techniques to professionally collect money owed by our Patients/Guarantors
• Builds and maintains collaborative relationships with both internal and external Clients that lead to more effective communication and a higher level of productivity and accuracy

Responsibilities

• Greet patients, complete full patient registration, explain and secure hospital forms, scan PHI, file patient information packets, assist with scheduling procedures and physician interviews
• Provide patient financial counseling and referrals, perform patient liability collection activities, and handle cash reconciliation and secure payment entries
• Verify medical necessity checks/verification, verify insurance benefits, obtain authorizations, and secure inpatient visit notifications to payors
• Analyze ADT and Revenue Cycle Reports, lead shift Patient Access Operations, and collaborate with department leaders on process improvements
